The Tree Trimmer performs a variety of skilled tasks involved in the care, maintenance and removal of ornamental and large shade trees using specialized vehicles and equipment. Operates hand and power tools in pruning and tree maintenance. Installs cables and braces in trees to assure that trees or limbs will fall in designated areas. Climbs trees using ropes, hooks or cables. Operates a bucket truck. Works closely with Horticulturists to identify and plan work activities. Must drive and safely operate a hydraulic lift bucket truck. May act as a lead worker. |

Plans and carries out work, resolving any problems in accordance with instructions, policies and accepted practices, and federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances. Drives various vehicles from site to site. May serve as a lead worker over other Grounds employees. |
