Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm; May require shift work or weekend work.
Job Summary: The Electrician II performs skilled work at the journeyman level in the electrical trade. Installs, repairs, and performs maintenance of a wide variety of electrical equipment to include high voltage switching equipment, transformers, appliances, circuitry, and lighting systems in athletic fields (indoors and outdoors), streets, labs, classrooms and buildings. May train and supervise entry level personnel. May work with high voltage systems (480 to 12470 VAC) and at levels of thirty to one-hundred and twenty feet above ground.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of electrical work experience. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Skills and Knowledge: Must be able to operate and use various tools of the trade in completion of work tasks. Must be able to lift, handle and maneuver the tools, materials and supplies of the job. Must have the ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot blueprints, drawings, manuals, maps, schematics, and plans and do material takeoffs. Must have good people skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Must have good communications skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to accomplish all assigned work tasks, with or without reasonable accommodations, in a timely matter. Must meet regular attendance requirements. Must have the ability to perform all tasks listed in the Job Duties section.
