Job Summary: The Athletic Broadcast Producer assists with pre-production planning and live broadcast productions for SEC. Prepares graphics list for insert graphics in broadcast shows. Prepares pre-produced video content for broadcast shows. Prepares broadcast show rundowns and works with announcers to determine storylines for broadcast shows. Produces various live events in video control room. Utilizes understanding of live event production, control room etiquette and overall chain of command in a live environment.


Additional Department Summary: Produces various live productions, video features, recruiting video pieces, and highlight videos to be utilized on a variety of platforms. Travels and works on weekends and holidays as needed.


Required Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree in broadcast communication, telecommunication and film, journalism, or graphic design and two (2) years of broadcast or multimedia editing, production, and/or experience; OR master's degree in broadcast communication, telecommunication and film, journalism, or graphic design and some broadcast or multimedia editing, production, and/or experience.


Skills and Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of all current video software recognized as industry standards such as Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Final Cut Pro 7, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, Soundtrack Pro, Motion. Knowledge of lighting techniques and positioning. Working knowledge of current video gear. Ability to design creatively and efficiently using the Macintosh operating system and appropriate software (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe In Design, Microsoft Office, Dreamweaver, etc.). Excellent organizational skills to handle a variety of multiple active projects simultaneously. Ability to meet deadlines, follow priorities, and to schedule work on several projects at once and maintain a constant smooth flow of work. Working knowledge of control room equipment. Knowledge of production staffing and workflows.


Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Broadcast Communication, Telecommunication and Film, Journalism, or Graphic Design and experience in sports.
