Job Summary: The Senior ADA Building Assessor performs ADA assessments utilizing techniques including visual examination, non-destructive testing, and instrumentation and load testing. Identifies, diagnoses, and develops barrier removal solutions for the built environment on the University campus including all major components and systems of buildings and other infrastructure. Produces deliverables ranging from reports of findings and recommendations to development of restoration design documents and construction oversight/administration. Maintains up to date understanding of construction materials and property classes.


Additional Department Summary: The Senior ADA Building Assessor will identify, diagnose, and develop barrier removal solutions for the built environment on the UA Campus. This includes all major components and systems of buildings and other infrastructure. Projects range from detailed evaluations of buildings and site conditions. An understanding of construction materials and property classes is required. Assessment techniques include visual examination, non-destructive testing, and instrumentation and load testing. Ability to produce deliverables range from reports of findings and recommendations to development of restoration design documents and construction oversight/administration.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, building science, or related building field and four (4) years experience in building project management or facility assessment; OR master's degree in architecture, building science, or related building field and two (2) years experience in building project management or facility assessment.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have a valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at the time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Skills and Knowledge: Read and interpret construction documents. Capable of analyzing all technical aspects of ADA subject area, defining scope and selecting problems for investigation, developing novel concepts and approaches, and recommending solutions.


Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, building science or related building field and 8 years experience in building project management or facility assessment. Or, a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 12 years of related experience. Certification as an ADA Coordinator, Access Specialist, or similar credential preferred. Additional certifications related to architecture, construction or project management. Proficient in REVIT.
